Our Mont Ventoux,

an extraordinary dimension

VINE GROWING

Terroir

Our vineyards cover around eighty hectares, planted with noble grape varieties typical of Provence. Our entire vineyard is certified HVE (High Environmental Value) level 3 (highest level). This label certifies our commitment to preserving soil biodiversity and water resources, thus guaranteeing environmentally-friendly wine production. We are in the Côtes du Ventoux and Vin de Pays du Vaucluse Appellations.

Our Grape Varieties

We grow a wide selection of grape varieties (currently 17) on small plots, including Cinsault, Grenache Noir and Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Marselan, Caladoc, Merlot, Vermentino, Bourboulenc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Muscat petits grains, Petit Manseng and Roussanne.

Climate

Most of our vineyards are located in the beautiful hilltop Provencal village of Roussillon. Surrounded by Mont Ventoux on one side and the Luberon on the other, our vines enjoy a Mediterranean climate. Influenced by the altitude, which can be as high as 400 meters (about 1,300 feet), our vines alternate between sunny days and cool nights.
It's this thermal amplitude that expresses itself in our wines, bringing freshness and balance. The Mistral wind is also inseparable from our terroir. It prevents humidity from settling in and refreshes the plots where the sun shines 300 days a year.

Soils

Located to the south of the Ventoux appellation, our vines are even closer to the Luberon regional nature park. They have taken possession of an unspoilt natural environment and a special geology. Our diverse soils are made up of red clay, limestone and sand. Our clay-limestone soils give us colourful wines, rich in alcohol with powerful, tannic but also fruity aromas. Our sandy soils stand out, giving us light, fresh, fine and elegant wines.

WINEMAKING

It is in this harmony between man and nature that great wines are born, a subtle chemistry, a divine marriage. And in each bottle, the story of their complicity is revealed, a hymn to the vine, a testimony to an eternal passion.

In the bustle of the harvest, the 2 brothers go through the vines together, carefully selecting the parcels to be harvested. In each grape, they see the very essence of the terroir, the fruit of a year's work. And it is with patience, flexibility and ingenuity that they decide on the destiny to be revealed.

After watching over his vines all summer, Damien scrupulously monitored the development of his grapes parcel by parcel, controlling acidity and sugar to achieve perfect balance.

Lionel works with his customers every day, on the estate and at the markets, listening to their preferences. It is with energy, passion and meticulousness that he vinifies and ages his vintages for the gourmet pleasure of our customers.

Always on the lookout for aromatic, complex, lively, long-lasting wines, the 2 brothers do not hesitate to innovate with the latest techniques and contemporary winemaking equipment.
They use a concrete egg for the white wine, terracotta amphorae to mature the great reds, as well as demi-muids and oak barrels of different origins and toasting.

Winemaking of Red wines

As soon as the harvest is received, it is placed in temperature-controlled fermentation vats. Pumping over, punching down the cap and racking over the course of the days help to gently extract colour and body.
Some of our wines are matured in terracotta amphorae and/or French oak barrels.

Winemaking of White wines

Our great whites are vinified in concrete eggs. The ovoid shape of the egg encourages the natural suspension of the lees through vortex movements, without intervention and with greater delicacy, giving the wine greater finesse and more aromas.
Some vintages are matured for several months in oak barrels to add body and length.

Winemaking of Rosé wines

We pick our grapes very early to benefit from the cool night air. After stemming and crushing, the grapes are pressed directly to produce very light rosés, followed by light pneumatic pressing, static cold settling and temperature-controlled fermentation. Some rosé vintages are made from fermented "bourbes" (residue of the must – unfermented grape juice – after pressing), which gives light, very exotic and fine rosés.
